What is the Construction Wireman - Construction Electrician Program? (continued)

Below is a brief excerpt from one of the Program's information handouts:

Each individual will complete an application and take an assessment test. Your placement on the pay scale will be determined primarily by your score on this assessment test. Your first 90 days are what we call a probationary period, during which you participate in a hands-on evaluation scheduled for you by the Organizing Office. We'll send you a letter letting you know when to come for the evaluation so please keep your contact information current with us. Please keep in mind that this hands-on evaluation is mandatory.

At the end of your probationary period you are eligible to begin training courses at our Training Center. These are not mandatory, however, if you wish to advance from the level at which you were originally placed to a higher level of pay, you must complete 2000 hours of on-the-job training AND take the required classes (for a detailed listing of classes required for each level, please see the CW-CE Program Catalog).

All applicants are required to pass a drug screen prior to each job assignment.

Individuals qualifying at the CW1 through CE5 levels receive a 3% contractor-paid pension plan. Those qualifying at the CE6 through CE8 levels receive the 3% contractor-paid pension plan plus an additional 10% contractor-paid pension plan.
